Zoho CRM Telephony in India: 3 Routes, Costs and a 10-Call Test
Zoho CRM telephony connects calls to CRM records through one of three routes: Zoho's built-in Twilio-based calling, Zoho Voice, or an Indian provider's connector. Choose by where your numbers already live.

Key takeaways
- 01Choose the route by where your numbers live. Use built-in telephony if you have no phone system and few calls. Use Zoho Voice on its Enterprise Telephony edition if you want Zoho to run the phones. Use an Indian provider's connector if you already pay for one.
- 02For 10 reps, Zoho Standard plus MyOperator's Sedan plan costs ₹13,000 a month before GST (goods and services tax). MyOperator bills Sedan annually upfront, ₹60,000. Zoho Professional plus Sedan costs ₹19,000 a month (as of October 2026).
- 03Missing calls can come from set-up gaps: agents who are not mapped, one number ringing several reps, or a wrong web address for call events. Ten test calls and a count check can find these before you commit.
- 04Recordings and missed calls can reach Zoho about 5 minutes late on Exotel. Plan follow-up tasks around that delay.

Zoho CRM (customer relationship management software) keeps your leads and call history, but the phone system behind it is a separate choice. Zoho's own CRM help lists 31 telephony extensions as of October 2026. That is before you count Zoho's built-in calling and Zoho Voice.
The route matters more than the shortlist. The same CRM can log every call under one setup and miss calls under another, and a team can find out only after paying for a year of licences.
This page gives you a route chooser, worked rupee costs for a small team and a call-by-call test to run during a trial. The costs are built from the providers' own published prices, so you can repeat the sums with your own team size.
TalkEasy publishes this page and sells a calling app. The comparison covers Zoho's routes and the Indian providers that connect to Zoho, and our own place in it comes last.
Which Zoho CRM telephony route should an Indian sales team choose?
Choose by where your phone numbers already live. Use Zoho's built-in telephony if you have no phone system and make few calls. Use Zoho Voice if you want Zoho to run the phones. Use an Indian provider's connector if you already pay for Exotel, Knowlarity, Ozonetel or MyOperator.
Zoho's connector framework is called Zoho Telephony, also known as PhoneBridge. It makes no calls itself. It links a cloud phone system, called a PBX (private branch exchange, the switchboard that rings reps' phones and routes calls), to the CRM so calls appear on lead records.
| Feature | Built-in telephony | Zoho Voice | Indian provider connector |
|---|---|---|---|
| Runs on | Twilio (a cloud calling provider) | Zoho's own cloud PBX | The provider's platform |
| Best for | Few calls, no separate phone app | Live call tracking, agent mobility, spam blocking | Teams already on a provider account |
| Licence | None; number rental and call charges | Enterprise Telephony edition needed for the CRM link | The provider's plan |
| Mobile | Web only | Zoho Voice app for calling; the CRM link works in the web CRM only | Depends on the provider; check mobile CRM support |
Our recommendation: if you already have an Indian provider, use its connector rather than moving numbers. A provider's Zoho connector is the shortest path to calls on lead records. If you are starting from nothing with a handful of callers, start with built-in telephony. If you are comparing providers, how to choose cloud telephony in India covers the buying questions.
Set-up has the same shape on all three routes. An admin opens Setup, Channels, Telephony and installs the connector. Each agent must then have a phone number assigned, or calls will not work inside the CRM.
Zoho's pages count providers differently. The CRM help list names 31 extensions, and the editions comparison page says "Zoho PhoneBridge and 106 others". Search your own Setup, Channels, Telephony screen for your provider before you shortlist.
What does Zoho CRM telephony cost for 10 reps in rupees?
With MyOperator's Sedan plan (billed annually upfront, ₹60,000), 10 reps cost ₹13,000 a month on Zoho Standard and ₹19,000 on Professional, before GST. Telephony is the smaller share of that bill, so the CRM edition decides the total more than the phone plan does.
As of October 2026, Zoho's CRM pricing page lists these rates per user per month, billed annually (monthly billing costs more):
- Free: ₹0, up to 3 users, with no calling.
- Standard: ₹800.
- Professional: ₹1,400.
- Enterprise: ₹2,400.
Standard and above let reps make, receive and log calls inside the CRM. GST is charged on top.
MyOperator's published Sedan price as of October 2026 is ₹5,000 a month for 10 users, billed annually upfront. MyOperator also sells WhatsApp and call-routing tools that suit teams needing more than logging.
| Stack for 10 reps | Zoho CRM per month | Provider per month | Total per month | Total per year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard + Sedan | ₹8,000 | ₹5,000 | ₹13,000 | ₹1,56,000 |
| Professional + Sedan | ₹14,000 | ₹5,000 | ₹19,000 | ₹2,28,000 |
| Enterprise + Sedan | ₹24,000 | ₹5,000 | ₹29,000 | ₹3,48,000 |
The provider column is ₹5,000 a month, paid as ₹60,000 once a year. This is our model, not a quote from Zoho or MyOperator. The formula is 10 users × Zoho's annual-billing per-user rate, plus ₹5,000, and it leaves out GST and call charges. On monthly billing, replace Zoho's per-user rate with the monthly-billing rate on the pricing page. Telephony is ₹5,000 of ₹13,000 (38%) in the first row and ₹5,000 of ₹19,000 (26%) in the second.
Zoho's own routes price calls separately. Our model for both uses 10 reps, 22 working days a month and 60 minutes of outbound calls to Indian mobiles per rep per day, which is 10 × 22 × 60 = 13,200 minutes a month.
- Built-in telephony has no licence cost, only number rental and call charges, paid in credits. Zoho's telephony pricing page lists one credit as 1 USD, shown as ₹86. Pick your number type on that page, then add rental to 13,200 minutes at the per-minute rate shown.
- Zoho Voice prices India numbers and calls in credits on its India pricing page:
- 13,200 minutes at 0.4 credit a minute to mobiles is 5,280 credits.
- Recording every minute at 0.1 credit a minute is 1,320 credits.
- One landline number at 499 credits a month completes the usage: 5,280 + 1,320 + 499 = 7,099 credits a month. A mobile number is 799 credits.
- Multiply that total by the rupee value of a credit in your Zoho Voice account, then add your Enterprise Telephony licence. Each licence includes 10 free telephony agents.
Is Zoho Voice available in India, and what is the catch?
Yes. Zoho's Voice features page lists the India data centre among those it serves and says you can buy landline and virtual mobile numbers to call within India. The catch is the plan: the CRM link works only on the Enterprise Telephony edition, not Business Phone.
Zoho's integration article states: "Zoho Telephony integration is available only in our Enterprise Telephony edition. It is not available in the Business Phone edition." Check the edition name before you buy.
Three limits shape the choice:
- Mobile: Zoho's Voice features page says calls through the CRM link "are not supported in the mobile version of these apps. They are supported only in the web applications." Zoho Voice's own mobile app handles calls on the go, but it shows only the caller's number, not their details.
- International calls: you can buy a US, UK or Australian number and call any country except India, per the same page.
- Data centre: your country at sign-up decides which data centre your Zoho account sits on, and an account on the US data centre cannot simply move to India under the same email.
Our judgement: Zoho Voice fits a team that wants one vendor and its own calling app. A team that already has numbers and recordings with an Indian provider gains little by moving them.
Why do Zoho CRM calls go missing from the Calls module?
Calls can go missing when the phone system and the CRM disagree about who took the call. The CRM can only log what the phone system reports to it.
Our inference about common set-up gaps, not a measured failure rate:
- an agent with no extension (a rep's internal line number) mapped in Zoho;
- a ring group (one number that rings several reps at once) whose missed calls ring several extensions;
- a wrong callback URL (the web address the phone system sends call events to);
- a phone app that never prompts the rep to log the call.
A 2021 thread on 3CX's phone-system forum shows the pattern. A team's Zoho logs fell well short of the calls made, and the support team named missed queue calls ringing several extensions, agents with no extension defined in Zoho and misconfigured URLs. The poster fixed their URL settings.
The mobile app has its own gap. A question on Zoho's community forum reads: "Most of our users report problems regarding auto-logging not working. They use the mobile apps for Zoho CRM on iOS and Android, and both don't show the popup that says 'do you want to log this call?'." Test this on your own reps' phones.
Delay is the third cause. Exotel's Zoho set-up guide states that recordings upload at 5-minute intervals, missed calls appear in Zoho only after 5 minutes, and call status events such as ringing and answered do not fire during the call. Its set-up also needs KYC (know-your-customer identity checks), an ExoPhone (Exotel's name for its virtual number) and API credentials (the keys that let two systems talk to each other) from its dashboard.
Our recommendation: never make same-minute follow-up depend on the CRM record. Have the rep set the next step as soon as the call ends. Ten call disposition codes give every call an outcome the CRM can report on.

How do you test Zoho CRM call logging with 10 test calls and a 20-call count check?
Make 10 test calls from a trial account using two or three reps' phones and mark each pass or fail. Then run a count check: each rep makes 20 calls and you compare the tally with the Calls module. A route that passes all 10 has no logging gap these tests can find.
Do outbound calls log from the CRM and from a rep's own phone?
- Click to call from a lead record on the web. Pass: a Calls record appears on the right lead with the right direction and a duration within 10 seconds of your stopwatch. Fail: no record, or the wrong lead.
- Do the same from the Zoho CRM mobile app. Skip this test on Zoho Voice and built-in telephony, where calls work only in the web CRM. Run it only for provider connectors that document mobile CRM support. Pass: the record appears. Fail: nothing logs.
- Dial a lead from the phone's own dialer and hang up. Pass: the app prompts you to log the call. Fail: no prompt.
Do inbound calls show the caller and create a record?
- Call your business number from a known lead's phone. Pass: the lead's name pops up before the rep answers and a record exists after. Fail: only a number shows.
- Call from a number that is not in the CRM. Pass: you can create a lead from the pop-up or the record. Fail: the call leaves no trace.
- Call twice from the same number within five minutes. Pass: two records on one lead. Fail: duplicate leads or a missing second record.
Do missed calls and unmapped reps behave?
- Call a ring group that rings two or more reps and let it go unanswered. Pass: exactly one missed-call record. Fail: none, or one per rep.
- Add a new rep and have them call before you map their number. Pass: the call is not logged or is flagged as an unmapped agent. Fail: it logs under another rep.
Do recordings and follow-up tasks attach to the call?
- Record a call and wait. Pass: the recording is attached within the delay your provider documents (5 minutes on Exotel). Fail: not attached after twice that time.
- After a call, add a follow-up task from the call record. Pass: the task is saved against the lead. Fail: you cannot create it, or it attaches elsewhere.
Does the Calls module match the number of calls each rep made?
Each rep makes 20 calls and writes the tally down. Pass: the Calls module shows the same count for each rep, or you can explain every difference. Fail: any gap you cannot explain.
Once logging passes, the six metrics to track in a sales team's calls turn the records into a weekly report.

How does TalkEasy work alongside Zoho CRM?
TalkEasy is the calling layer: a virtual business number, smart dialer, call recording, AI call summaries and team analytics in one Android app. Zoho CRM is among the CRMs our Enterprise plan connects to. On Pro, reps log the outcome in Zoho themselves.
Here is how we run it. The rep calls from the app on the team's number, and AI Call Assist writes the summary. Our recommendation is to copy three fields into Zoho after every call: an outcome code, the next follow-up date and a one-line summary. Three fields keep reports clean and take seconds.
As of October 2026, TalkEasy Pro is ₹999 + GST a month. It includes unlimited users and contacts and 3 hours a day of talktime, and extra talktime is ₹49 + GST an hour. Here is the working, assuming the 3 hours is shared across the team:
- 3 hours across 10 reps is 180 ÷ 10 = 18 minutes each a day.
- If 10 reps talk one hour each a day, that is 10 hours, so 7 hours are extra: 7 × ₹49 = ₹343 a day.
- Over 22 working days that is ₹7,546, so ₹8,545 a month with the ₹999 plan, before GST.
That is above Sedan's ₹5,000, so a 10-rep team calling all day should ask us for an Enterprise quote. Enterprise also covers the Zoho CRM link. Pro suits smaller or lighter-calling teams: three reps talking one hour each a day use exactly the included 3 hours.
The two are not like for like. If you need multi-level IVR (interactive voice response, the "press 1 for sales" menu) or WhatsApp suites, MyOperator and Exotel are stronger fits. Our Android app is on Google Play, where you can start a trial instantly and run the tests above with your own reps.
