  • Billing is monthly or yearly, and there is an India data centre.

Limitations

  • Pricing is credit-based and varies by data centre, so the monthly bill is harder to forecast.

  • Built for CRM-connected calling.

Limitations

  • Pricing is by enquiry, so cost cannot be compared before speaking to sales.
  • Its value depends on your team running a CRM.

How to choose

  1. 1

Does the bill hold on your busiest day?

Multiply your peak-day calls by minutes per call. Pass: included talktime or minutes cover it, or you can name the extra rate. Fail: you cannot say what the 200th minute costs.
  2. 2

Does the seat count and commitment fit?

Price your actual callers, not the plan's. Pass: no seat minimum above your team and no prepaid period longer than you can afford to lose. A 6-seat minimum is ₹9,594 a month even for 3 callers.
  3. 3

Does every call log with a recording?

Place 10 test calls. Pass: all 10 appear in the log with recordings and outcomes. Fail: any is missing.
  4. 4

Does a missed call get a callback?

Call from an unknown phone and let it ring out. Pass: a callback arrives within the time you set.
  5. 5

Which number series do automated calls use?

Pass: the provider names the 1600 series or another allotted series for service and transactional calls, and the advance written notice to your telecom provider about the robo-calls and their purpose has been filed. Fail: the provider cannot name the series, or the advance notice has not been filed.

Key takeaways

  • A team of two to ten people confirming COD orders and taking support calls is best served by a shared business number with recordings, call logs and missed-call callbacks. Layer WhatsApp or artificial intelligence (AI) calling on top only when the numbers justify it.
  • At 1,000 COD orders a month, manual confirmation calls on a shared number break even if they prevent about 17 returns at a ₹350 return cost, or 40 at ₹150. These are our model's figures, built on stated assumptions.
  • Under the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) notification of 12 February 2025, a business must tell its telecom provider in writing before using auto-dialled or robo-calls and state their purpose; TRAI's explanatory memorandum says service and transactional robo-calls should use the 1600 series or another allotted series.
  • Check the seat minimum, the billing commitment and the talktime (paid calling minutes) or minutes included before you pay. Those three decide the real monthly bill more than the headline price.

What is ecommerce call center software, and which type does a small store need?

Ecommerce call center software is software a store uses to handle customer contact about orders by phone, with WhatsApp and ticketing tools as companions. It comes in four types: a shared phone line, a helpdesk with ticketing, a WhatsApp automation tool and an AI voice caller. A team of two to ten usually starts with the phone line.

  • Shared phone line. One business number, many users, recordings and call logs. It answers "who called, who rang back, what was said".
  • Helpdesk. Tickets and order lookup inside your store platform. It suits teams that handle most support in writing.
  • WhatsApp automation. Template messages for order updates and COD confirmation. It is cheap per message, but a person still handles replies.
  • AI voice caller. An automated agent that places confirmation calls. You pay per minute, and cost grows with order volume.

An interactive voice response (IVR) is the automated menu ("press 1 for order status"). This page covers software you run yourself, not outsourced agencies.

How do the eight options compare on price and fit?

For a small Indian online store, TalkEasy is the best pick: one shared business number with recordings, call logs, analytics and missed-call callbacks. Prices are as published in rupees in November 2026, before goods and services tax (GST) unless stated.

TalkEasy Pro has the lowest published paid monthly fee among the providers that list a rupee price for a team plan, and no seat minimum. Zoho Voice also has a free solo tier. The table sets published prices side by side, as of November 2026.

*Caller Digital's ₹9.42 is its DIY pay-as-you-go tier with the customer's own keys (BYOK, bring your own keys) at a stated discount; key-related charges are billed separately.

Do COD confirmation calls pay for themselves? A break-even you can rerun

COD confirmation calls pay for themselves when the returns they prevent cost more than the calls. At 1,000 COD orders a month, manual calls on a shared number need about 17 fewer returns at ₹350 each. This is our model, and the inputs are yours to change.

Returns on COD orders cost more than a call. Unicommerce's platform data on 6,000+ D2C brands (April 2025 to February 2026) shows 58% of COD orders returned in the festive quarter against under 15% of prepaid. Optimised brands reached a 21.0% RTO rate by March 2026. An agency blog cites ₹150–240 for freight alone and ₹350–600 fully loaded, quoting Edgistify; treat these as ranges, not measured costs. Your courier invoices beat any estimate.

Our model's assumptions. 1,000 COD orders a month. 3 minutes of calling per order (about 1.5 attempts of 2 minutes). Caller time at ₹100 an hour (change this). Return cost of ₹150 (freight only) or ₹350 (fuller). 300 returns a month for a 30% return rate. Whether calls actually cut returns is unknown for your store, so the table shows what they must achieve.

Working for manual calls. 1,000 × 3 minutes = 3,000 minutes = 50 hours. That fits inside our Pro plan's 3 talktime hours a day, about 90 hours over 30 days. Cost: ₹999 plan fee + 50 h × ₹100 = ₹5,999 a month before GST. Break-even is ₹5,999 ÷ ₹350 = 17.1 returns, or ₹5,999 ÷ ₹150 = 40.0.

*The ₹9.42 rate is Caller Digital's DIY tier with the customer's own keys (BYOK); key-related charges are billed separately and are not in this figure.

Three caveats. The WhatsApp route has no caller time, but a person still handles replies, so add labour if so. The first 1,000 service messages each month are free on MyOperator's page, so the WhatsApp route's message cost may be lower. The AI route is costed on pay-as-you-go because 2,000 minutes sits below Growth's 10,000-minute minimum.

Test it before you scale. In our judgement, start with manual calls and measure. Call every second COD order for two months and leave the others uncalled. Compare returns in each group. On 500 orders per group, a 1.7-point gap is only 8 or 9 returns and hard to tell from chance, so run the test until each group has at least 1,000 orders. Move to WhatsApp or AI calling only when the measured gap and your volume justify the higher fixed or per-minute cost. Then read your outcomes against call center KPIs.

Which TRAI rules apply to COD confirmation calls?

Under the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) notification of 12 February 2025, a business must tell its telecom provider in writing before using auto-dialled or robo-calls and state their purpose; TRAI's explanatory memorandum says service and transactional robo-calls should use the 1600 series or another allotted series. A call that confirms an order the customer placed fits TRAI's definitions of transactional and service voice calls, which need no explicit consent and must not be promotional. The classification of a given call is our reading.

  • A transactional voice call is made to a customer in response to a customer-initiated transaction within thirty minutes of the transaction. The notification lists one-time passwords (OTPs) from e-commerce and "transaction alerts and confirmations" as examples.
  • A service voice call includes information about delivery of goods or services and is likewise not promotional.
  • The explanatory memorandum adds that promotional robo calls should be permitted only through 140-series numbers.

Our recommendation: keep the call to confirming, and take advice before adding a prepaid-switch offer, because an offer is promotional content. If you use an automated caller, ask which series it calls from and file the written notice with your telecom provider. If you record calls, announce it; our call recording announcement guide has wording. The notification regulates auto-dialled and robo-calls and promotional content; a person dialling a customer to confirm an order they placed is not a robo-call. Our reading is that this is a transactional or service call, so keep it to confirmation.

How we built this list

We read each provider's own pricing or product page in November 2026. We included providers that serve Indian online brands and either publish rupee prices or state that pricing is by enquiry. We left out tools priced only in dollars or euros on the pages we read, and tools whose pages we could not load. Helpdesks and outsourced agencies are outside the scope. Ranking is by fit for a team of two to ten people confirming COD orders and taking support calls on a shared number, then by how fully the price is published. Prices change, so confirm on the provider's page. TalkEasy is one of the companies listed.

This page is published by TalkEasy. If anything here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Frequently asked

For a small team, a flat monthly plan with unlimited users is usually cheapest. TalkEasy Pro is the lowest published paid team plan. Acefone starts at ₹9,594 a month (6 seats × ₹1,599) and MyOperator at ₹5,000 a month billed annually. Zoho Voice has a free solo tier with call charges.
Yes, a team calling from a shared business number can confirm COD orders manually. Call within thirty minutes of the order, keep the call to confirmation and log the outcome. At 1,000 orders a month the model above needs about 50 hours of calling, which our Pro plan's daily talktime covers.
You need an IVR only when many callers must be sorted into queues, such as order status, returns and payments, before reaching a person. A small team can answer from one shared number and use routing.

Some does; check each provider's integration list before paying. MyOperator's Sedan plan includes a Shopify integration covering WhatsApp abandoned-cart reminders, order and delivery updates, and COD verification. With TalkEasy, your team gets a shared number, recordings, call logs and missed-call callbacks, and Enterprise adds custom CRM integration. Ask us at support@groweasy.ai.
