The short answer

We recommend TalkEasy for a small team that calls Indian customers and pays in rupees: one plan price covers unlimited users, with no per-user licence and no three-user minimum. Aircall's cost rises with each user, and its help centre documents limits on calling Indian numbers. Teams that need phone menus, texting or WhatsApp add-ons should check Aircall's own options first.

Introduction

Aircall asks for at least three paid licences, lists its prices in US dollars and, according to its own help centre, cannot place some calls to Indian numbers. Those three facts shape this decision more than any feature list does.

A team of three in Pune or Lucknow has a narrower question than most comparisons answer: what will we pay each month in rupees, and will our customers' phones ring when we call?

On a per-user dollar plan, three people mean three licences, billed in dollars. Three Essentials licences at $30 each come to $90 a month on annual billing, while one rupee plan fee does not grow with headcount.

Below, Aircall is priced for 3, 5 and 10 users and set against our Pro plan, and a five-check test follows that you can run on any provider before moving your team. Where Aircall is the stronger pick, we say so.

Key takeaways

  • For a small team that calls Indian customers and pays in rupees, we recommend TalkEasy: one plan price covers unlimited users, with no per-user licence and no three-user minimum. Teams that need phone menus, texting or WhatsApp add-ons should check Aircall's own options first.
  • At the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reference rate of 28 October 2026, Aircall's entry plan for three users works out at about 8.6 times our Pro plan price before tax and before talktime beyond the included hours. Aircall's cost rises with each user while our plan price does not.
  • Aircall's help centre documents limits on calling Indian numbers, so test any provider on five networks (connection, caller display, callback, toll-free and recording) before switching.
  • With TalkEasy you pay in rupees by Unified Payments Interface (UPI), card or netbanking, and you can cancel anytime with no long-term lock-in.

Why choose TalkEasy over Aircall for a team in India?

Choose TalkEasy when your team is small, calls Indian customers and wants rupee billing. Five facts support that.

  1. One price for the whole team. Our paid plans include unlimited users and contacts. Aircall's Essentials and Professional plans charge per licence with a three-licence minimum, so you pay for three seats even if two people take calls.
  2. Rupees, with local payment. You buy talktime in the app or on login, pay by UPI, card or netbanking, and receive a saved invoice. Aircall lists dollars.
  3. No lock-in. You can cancel anytime. Aircall's listed prices assume annual billing, with a 25% saving for paying annually.
  4. Talktime you can model. Pro includes 3 hours of talktime a day, and extra talktime costs ₹49 + GST an hour. If your team talks for 5 hours on a day, 2 hours are extra: 2 × ₹49 = ₹98 + GST for that day. That is our worked example, not a quote.
  5. Calling tools in the plan. You get a shared business number, a dialer with click-to-call, recording, analytics, AI call summaries, and missed call automation, which is designed to call customers back automatically after a missed call. Read more on our virtual business number and call analytics pages.

What does Aircall cost in rupees for 3, 5 and 10 users?

For three users, Aircall Essentials costs $90 a month on annual billing, about ₹8,571 at ₹95.2278 per US dollar, the RBI's published reference rate for 28 October 2026. That is our calculation, not an Aircall rupee price: Aircall lists dollars, so your actual rupee bill moves with the exchange rate.

The model is users × list price per user × ₹95.2278, rounded to the nearest rupee. It uses Aircall's annual-billing list prices as listed on its pricing page on 29 October 2026. It excludes tax, add-ons and call charges.

The Pro plan price is one monthly fee for the whole team, whatever its size, and it covers 3 talktime hours a day for the whole team. Before talktime beyond the included hours, Aircall Essentials for three users is about 8.6 times the Pro plan price, and Professional is about 14.3 times. Aircall's cost rises with each user while our plan price does not.

Talktime does add to a TalkEasy bill, so here is our model: a 10-user team talking 6 hours a day on 26 working days uses 3 hours a day beyond the included 3, so it pays ₹999 + (3 × ₹49 × 26) = ₹4,821 + GST for the month. Like the Aircall figures, which exclude tax, add-ons and call charges, the Pro plan price excludes tax and any talktime beyond the included hours.

The plans are not identical. Aircall Essentials includes phone menus and texting, which can matter to you. Count the features you will actually use, then compare. For other team sizes, see business phone plans for 5, 10 and 20 people costed.

Can an Aircall number reach customers in India?

Aircall's own help centre says it cannot always. It documents that users cannot call Indian toll-free numbers from Aircall, with no workaround, and cannot call Indian numbers from their Indian Aircall numbers. Aircall gives the reason: downstream carriers no longer terminate national traffic that originates outside India unless it is genuine roaming traffic, and a cloud service cannot meet that test.

For other Indian numbers, Aircall's suggested fix is to use non-Indian Aircall numbers. Aircall's separate calling-bundle page lists India as a landline and mobile destination. Aircall's article carries no date, so confirm the position in writing before you buy.

The wider background is that India's Department of Telecommunications began blocking spoofed international calls on 22 October 2024, and a task force recommended that operators label incoming international calls "International Call" (MediaNama, December 2024). Because the task force only recommended the label, whether your customer sees it depends on the operator, so check what appears on screen. In our view, a customer who sees an unfamiliar international label is less likely to pick up.

How do you run a five-check reachability test before switching?

Run five checks from the number you are evaluating, whether Aircall, ours or anyone else's, and score each against a pass and a fail. It takes about 20 minutes, including a 10-minute wait for summaries, and needs five customer or colleague mobiles on different networks, for example Airtel, Jio, Vi and BSNL.

The 10-minute limit in check 5 is our threshold. Switch only if the provider passes all five. The same five checks work on a TalkEasy number. If you port a number later, read keep your business number when switching.

Which teams should check Aircall's phone menus, texting and WhatsApp add-on first?

Teams in three narrow cases should check Aircall first, all listed on its pricing page as of 29 October 2026.

  • You need phone menus. Aircall Essentials includes interactive voice response (IVR), the "press 1 for sales" menu.
  • You text, use WhatsApp, or want many integrations from one tool. Essentials includes text and multimedia messages (SMS and MMS) and lists 250+ integrations. WhatsApp is a $10 per seat per month add-on, and a Salesforce voice add-on is $30 per seat per month. If you want a link to your CRM with us, custom CRM integration is part of our Enterprise plan, which is quote-based.
  • Most of your calls go to the US and Canada. Essentials includes unlimited calls there, and Enterprise, from 25 users, adds single sign-on and compliance options.

If none of these describes your team, a per-team rupee plan is the simpler fit. Our cloud telephony services guide shows how to weigh other providers, including telephony options compared by price.

We publish this page and TalkEasy is one of the two products compared.

Our verdict

We recommend TalkEasy for a small sales or support team that calls Indian customers and wants to pay in rupees, with one plan price covering unlimited users and contacts.

How we compared

We compared TalkEasy's Pro plan with Aircall's Essentials and Professional plans on pricing basis, rupee cost for 3, 5 and 10 users, commitment terms, included features and calling to Indian numbers, as of October 2026. We checked Aircall's pricing page and two help-centre articles on 29 October 2026, the Reserve Bank of India reference rate for 28 October 2026, and TalkEasy's own pages. We did not compare call quality or run the five-check test on either provider.

Frequently asked

Aircall's help centre says you cannot call Indian toll-free numbers, and you cannot call Indian numbers from an Indian Aircall number. It suggests non-Indian Aircall numbers for other Indian calls. The article is undated, so confirm the current position with Aircall in writing, then run the five-check test on a trial number before committing.
Aircall's Essentials and Professional plans have a three-user minimum, and Enterprise starts at 25 users, so a team of two still pays for three licences. Our paid plans include unlimited users and contacts, so team size changes your talktime, not your plan fee.
Aircall's listed prices assume annual billing, and paying annually saves 25%, so its listed prices are tied to an annual commitment. With us you can cancel anytime, with no long-term lock-in, and you pay in rupees by UPI, card or netbanking.
Yes, both offer them, on different terms. Aircall includes AI call summaries from its Professional plan and sells them as an add-on on Essentials, while ours arrive within a couple of minutes of the call. See how to use AI call summaries for follow-up.
